Common Questions for the Student

How does the course work?

The course offers several tools for learning.  First you will receive the manual with the fundamental concepts relating to Pilates.  These concepts are like the “rules” to be used during each exercise.  Each of the concepts comes with exercises to practice.  The next step is to watch and practice each of the video modules.  These videos have very detailed instruction on how to perform the exercises and also tools as a teacher on how to correct the student.  There are 3 video downloads at the Fundamental, Basic, and Intermediate levels.  After the exercises have been learned, you will then practice the Mat Class led by Stephanie in full.  We recommend using a local studio and participating in mat classes whenever possible for your hours.  This will ensure you are making good progress and proper habits.  The course also comes with support from the Kore Pilates Studio.  During review times you may ask for specific help with an exercise or situation and we can speak via web.  Last bonus you will also receive a manual with the exercises from the Level 1 course with photo illustrations and detailed description of the exercises.

The beauty of Pilates Mat is the ability to practice anytime, anywhere.  With our course and with your practice you will have the tools to share this knowledge to everyone!

How will I access the downloads?

Once you have registered and made a payment via Visa, MasterCard, or Amex, you will be directed to a link with the Certification Course Downloads.  From there you will see the manual, videos, and classes available for download.

How long will I be able to access the downloads?

You will be able to log in to the program 3 times to download the material.  After that your login will expire.  If you need to re access the pages, you can contact the studio and we can help you from there.

What if I need help with an exercise?

Once a student, we will offer web training sessions every week to speak to one of our Certified Teachers via Skype or Net Meeting.  These sessions will be saved in a podcast for your use.

How will I get Hours?

We ask that you find a studio close to home to participate in obtaining hours of observation.  As for Teaching hours you may practice with friends, family, and other willing “bodies” to practice your technique.  If you are not near a pilates studio or gym offering mat classes, you may purchase our mat videos and from our Certification Course and watch from there.

How will I be tested?

Once you are ready, there will be a written exam available for download.  You may return the exam by email or mail and will get your grade via email.  We also ask you to send us a video of yourself teaching a mat class to at least 1 person for your Teaching Exam.

Is the Certificate Recognized Internationally?

Yes, we have students who have completed our Kore Pilates Certification all over the world.  Pilates does not have an official accreditation body.  Our course is PMA certified.
